Acceptance Through EFT Tapping

Let’s talk about the power of acceptance, and how to intensify its healing affects using EFT (emotional freedom technique) also known as tapping or psychological acupressure.

So, what is EFT and why does it work? EFT works by stimulating the same meridians used for centuries in Chinese medicine, clearing out our energy pathways which clears toxic emotions like shame, guilt and anxiety. EFT can also help physical pain.

How do you do it? It’s simple, and I’ll link a fantastic 10-minute YouTube video specific to the subject of acceptance. My therapist showed me this 5 years ago, and it was truly transformational in my personal healing journey.

5 Steps of EFT

1. Pick a topic, to focus on. (it can be anything negative or positive) anxiety, pain, fear, or a positive mindset you’d like to shift like - abundance.

• Let’s use the subject of acceptance to talk through the steps, you’ll utilize in EFT.

• Why acceptance?

• Acceptance is one of the most life-giving, energy shifting choices we can make to alter our level of anxiety and stress.

• The holiday season is approaching, and there’s a lot to unpack for many of us in that department. Acceptance is a powerful tool to get through holidays triggers (family, grief, financial).

• Acceptance doesn’t mean we stop caring about the problem, we just stop wasting precious life force energy on those things we cannot change, by choosing to accept the things we cannot change, and change the things we CAN.

• Our thoughts ARE a choice. Choose wisely. Choose freedom 

2. Rate the intensity of on a scale 1-10. In the example of acceptance, rate your inability to let go of unwanted negative thoughts related to issue you cannot change.

3. Acknowledge the issue/accept yourself with love despite the problem.

4. Tap on the 12 major meridians.

Begin by tapping the karate chop point while simultaneously reciting your setup phrase three times. Then, tap each following point seven times, moving down the body in this ascending order:

• eyebrow

• side of the eye

• under the eye

• under the nose

• chin

• beginning of the collarbone

• under the arm. After tapping the underarm point, finish the sequence at the top of the head point. While tapping the ascending points, recite the reminder phrase.

5. Finish and retest how intense your problem now feels, on a scale of 1-10. Repeat as needed.
